BREMERTON, May 6—The Victoria Athletics opened their four-game series here with a win— the third in their last five starts—as they topped Bremeton, 5-3.
Frank Prowse went the distance for the A's, besting John Marshall. Prowse gave up 11 hits but left 11 runners stranded.
The A's picked up seven hits but made the count for single tallies inn the first, third and sveenth, and two runs in the sixth when Frank Finnegan homered with a mate aboard. Four Bremerton errors helped the A's along.

TACOMA, May 6—Vancouver took the series opener in Tacoma, 7-5, tonight as Vern Kindsfather threw his first complete game.
He allowed eighth hits but walked eight and struck out three.
A four-run attack Vancouver in the fifth inning send Knezovich to the showers. Singles by Bob McLean, Jim Robinson, Charlie Mead and Ray Tran, plus Len Tran's double did the damage.

YAKIMA, May 6—Yakima outslugged the Spokane Indians, 13-9. Ray Orteig and Dick Briskey paced the Bears' 16-hit attack. Orteig had four hits in five trips, including a triple and a double, while Briskey had a perfect night with four for four. One of his hits was the first Yakima home run of the season in its home park. Spokane's big blow was a three-run homer by catcher Jack Parks.
