W.I.L. Attendance Shows 10,000 Gain
TACOMA, June 8—Attendance at Western International Baseball League games totaled 222,132 through May 30, President Robert B. Abel announced today, compared with 212,004 for the same period in 1948.
Abel credited the gain to Yakima's ball-happy citizens. Vancouver, B.C., with 42,169 fans, has the greatest total of any W.I.L. point.
Last year's early season was marred by an almost continual rainfall that resulted in the postponement of a record number of games.

Drew New With Athletics
VICTORIA, June 8—The Victoria Athletics have added outfielder Al Drew to their roster.
Drew was purchased from Vicksburg of the Southeastern League where he hit .305 last year. The lefthander has recently been with the Spokane Indians, but their deal with Vicksburg fell threw after he had appeared in about ten games.
