VICTORIA, June 24—John Conant outdueled Pete Vucurevich on the mound tonight as he shut out the Victoria Athletics 3-0.
Conant gave up five hits, walked three and struck out three, while Vucurevich surrendered seven hits, walked four, one intentionally, and struck out three.
Ken Richardon drew a walk in the fifth inning and moved to third on a hit-and-run faifthully executed by Tuck Stainback. He scored on Jack Calvey's outfield fly.
Jack Parks doubled in the sixth to score Paul Zaby, who singled and stole second.
Stainbeck doubled in Parks in the ninth who had walked and went to second on a passed ball.
The A's had runners on base in seven innings but batted into a couple of double-plays.

VANCOUVER, June 24—Vancouver scored three runs in the eighth to take the lead then Carl Gunnarson came on to save the game as the Capilanos defeated the Wenatchee Chiefs 9-7.
Gunnarson faced four batters, giving up one hit and striking out one.
The Caps spotted the Chiefs a 5-2 lead after three then took full advantage of seven bases on balls by Merle Frick, who was handed his first setback of the season after five victories.
Frick and Jim Faber homered for the losers.

YAKIMA, June 24—Yakima Bears snapped Tacoma's win streak at four games with a 5-1 victory. A pair of errors by Al Spaeter helped the Bears to four unearned runs.

BREMERTON, June 24—Manager Bill Beard paced a 14-hit attack as the Salem Senators defeated the Bremerton Bluejackets 6-2. Beard had a double and two singles in five trips.
Dave Dahle, former Stanford University pitcher, made his first start for the Jackets.
